Melanoma is such a fast and vicious disease - all too common in Australia. You can have a 1cm lesion and it's already in the lymph nodes and the blood. Although I'm not a religious person - I do think there is a kind of karmic circularity that will be made when you knit the shawl from your friends handspun.
