		<description>The ribbing is being stretched by the needle(s). Once you&#039;ve knit more rows, the fabric should draw in.  That&#039;s how it always happens for me when I knit socks from the toe-up.</description>

		<description>I always have to do the ribbing on needles two sizes smaller than the stockinette.  Even then sometimes it stretches out wider - my purling is very loose.</description>

Or try K2 P2.  It draws in even more than K1 P1.</description>

I&#039;ve been using some yarn recently that has way more elasticity than normal sock yarn (it seems), so despite my measurements and what I got for gauge, I had to cast on way less stitches for the sock.  It&#039;s definitely frustrating when gauge doesn&#039;t come easily, but know that the colors look great!</description>
