I have been wanting to post about the shawl I am knitting for Dyann.  I am in love with the pattern.  However, we agreed that we would keep our chosen patterns a secret.  This makes for difficult posting. At the very least, non-photographic posting.  Or does it? 

I am proposing a contest. 

The rules:  

1. Every week I will provide an ambiguous photo and a clue.
2. You email me your guess.  One guess per hint.  I thought about just leaving them in the comments, but I don’t want to stifle your creativity and imagination.
3. Every guess will be entered for a random drawing.
4. Every correct guess will be entered for a second random drawing.
5. The contest ends when Dyann reveals the shawl.
6. Prizes for the drawings will be yarn, of course, and a few extras thrown in. 
7. Fun is mandatory.  Causing me to laugh (or cry or snort or giggle) earns you extra credit.
8. I repeat - fun is mandatory.  :)

Clue #1:  These are a few of the books and patterns I owned at the time I started.  I also work at a LYS.  I may or may not have borrowed the pattern from the store’s library.  However, I did not use a stitch pattern dictionary.  Click on the pics to enlarge them in their own window.
