How Far Will You Go For Lace?

March 10th, 2007 · 7 Comments

Apparently I am willing to travel 40 miles and 1 hour.  Beth told me she had the new lace addi’s in stock.  I had to see for myself.  Fortunately, they were as nice as Beth had described.  Unfortunately I missed meeting Beth, who was away from the store to spin with her local group.  (Maybe next time Beth!)

I’ve been holding off casting on for a new project.  I have enough on the needles, but I really want to give these needles a try.  There is that alpaca lace sweater I’ve been designing in my head.   A little ole’ swatch doesn’t really count as a new project does it?

Swatches definitely do not count as new projects. There may be many, many swatches before one actually casts on for a piece of the garment. Sometimes there needs to be significant rumination time between the swatch(es) and the garment. So swatch away in good conscience!

That’s how far I drive to do any real shopping! We only have grocery stores.

Lace has been sounding good to me, too. I have to work on some UFOs, though. Darn startitis!! LOL

Swatching is a whole other activity - go look at Nona Swatches!! So much inspiration from those little squares.. In fact…

It is your DUTY as an ENABLER to Go Forth And SWATCH, and then to Blog To The World, Nay, The Universe, of the Joy Of Swatching!!!

And then I want to see a lacy sleeve happening on those new needles, or you *know* what will happen…. :>

Hmm the consensuses is that swatches don’t count. Works for me!! *L*

Go forth and swatch. Plus you need to tell us what you think about them. I’ve heard they are less slick yet very pointy. Too bad they don’t make DPN’s like that. My KnitPicks DPN’s are almost too slick, as in they are. o.0

Can’t wait to see this Alpaca lace creation of yours, or at least the swatch for it. ;^)
