My Blogging License is In Jeopardy

February 4th, 2007 · 7 Comments

I’d love to show you all the wonderful people and things that happened yesterday.  I really would, except I forgot my digital camera.  However, I picked up a disposable so all was not lost - just delayed.  All the picures I took look like this currently.  This is also the reason why my ability to blog is in question.trapped photosThe event itself was fun.  For the first time being held, it was well organized and well attended.  Over 180 chemo caps were turned in and over $7000 was raised.  I believe that dollar figure does not include the money generated from the general public attendance.

Like any extended stay away from my home, I came prepared with much knitting.  In actuality I only knit on the Evening shawl.  My biggest progress came from finishing the first color section and starting the second.  Instead of red, orange, and yellow, I will now be knitting lots of green and gray.

I was also reminded of how large my circle of knitting friends has become.  I met and knitted with people I know from blogging (like Amy), from knit nights (like Beth and Crystal), and friends of friends (like Sonya).  It is the people that always make events like this truly successful.

Of course, my participation had a lot of help from you. Without you, I wouldn’t have raised nearly the money that I did.  Thank you!!

All of you that sponsored me where put into a virtual hat and with the use of a random number generator two names were pulled out.

Jessica from Common Threads and Lucy from Knitting Sheep.  As promised, soft squishy yarn will soon be winging it’s way to you.

As soon as I renew my blogger’s pledge about always being prepared with a digital camera and have my blogger’s license reinstated, I’ll post the photos from the event.

That’s great! Can’t wait to see your pics. I still have film from years ago. It’s so easy to forget to develop it.

What a fantastic effort from everyone involved!!
Glad you had a great time too. Film is my enemy: digital allows me to take 56 Labradors photos and get one that is passable, film does not!!!

Thanks for including me in your knit circle. You can be assured I’ll be a marathoner next year. Not a vistor.

I’ll e-mail you the pics I took of you at the event. Monday night.
