Hat In A Day
Jan 28th, 2007 by jae
In addition to my sponsorships, part of my entry fee to Knit Michigan consists of a chemo cap. So, yesterday at three in the afternoon, I shopped my stash. Buried in the back was a wonderful yarn that reminded me of the Caribbean islands. Actually, I’ve never been to the Caribbean. But I’m sure it looks just like this yarn. The fiber was 100% cotton – great for easy care.
By four o’clock I was casted on and well underway. Less than twenty-four hours later, I casted off a perfect fitting hat. Bonus, is that I have enough yarn to make two.

Needles: Size US 6 (4.00mm)
Yarn: Patagonia Nature Cotton – Color #212, less than one skein
Pattern: My own. Simple 1×1 rib. If you are interested, I’ll write it up. Not much to it, really.
Time: One day!!
I am glad that you are so close to your goal! And the cotton is great because pure wool kind of itches and hurts! Take it from someone who knows! :P
That hat is pretty! It looks like Lake MI in the summer with all of the green trees around it to me.
Yay, you for doing something so nice!!
Cute hat! That’s the benefit of having a stash, when you can pull out the one skeiner projects.
Happy colors, itch-free fiber and a head-hugging rib. Great hat!
very cool, great cause. cotton is great for chemo hats!
Wonderful tropical colors – that hat is perfect!
What interesting colours, very unusual combination, it reminds me of the 60s, and I do remember them!! It knits up to make a beautiful hat too!!!
Ok, it’s about time I de-lurked here… Uber cool hat! x
PS: I’ve emailed you privately re KK.
Me again – great banner! Think I’ll hang around and play for a while!
Good luck with your Knit Michigan Marathon!
We’re all rooting for you!
