A Little Bit of Sky, A Little Bit of Knitting
Dec 2nd, 2006 by jae
It has been awhile since I’ve posted for Saturday Sky. In the rear corner of my lot, there is a small pond. While nearly invisible during the growing season, it beautifies the view during the cold winter winter months. We can tell that winter is almost here by the layer of floating frost that greets the morning. Later, when spring begins to arrive, we will know – not by the early blooming tulips, but by the thinning of the ice covered pond.
There has been knitting. A row here and there on the evening shawl. Whole pieces of the sweater that my husband gifted me two Christmas seasons ago. Of course, the size of the needles makes it quick work.
Lately I have felt the pull of long neglected projects. I think that is my mind’s way of clearing the path for working on new ideas. Such is the cycle of my knitting. I usually have a grand idea (or several). However, in order to get it out of my head and into something real, I have to eliminate the distractions of work already in progress. Thus, my need to finish a few things.
One more sleeve, this latest sweater should be off the needles. Then, I’ll be ready to swatch for the next steps of my peacock shawl. I can’t wait.
I love the changing of the seasons. We’ve just had the first official day of Summer: it’s all BBQs and hats from hereon in. I love your pond, your very own pond!!Happy knitting!!
Pretty Saturday picture! I’ve been feeling like I need to finish up projects, too. Especially the Christmas gifts! LOL
p.s. Thanks for the well wishes for SP. We appreciate every one! :)
I too seem to have that drive to finish the old lingering projects in order to fully enjoy the starting of a new one. I’m working thru my pile, good luck with yours!
Hey, when are you going to post an updated picture of the Evening Shawl? Everytime I see a ball of Touch Me I think of you.
wow, I was just thinking about that shawl from Knitter’s Stash and went to look up the price of the yarn. GAck! It’s so beautiful and I imagine that it will be super luxurious to wear!
