Holiday Recap

November 26th, 2006 · 8 Comments

The fried turkey was delicious. So was the stuffing.
Bonus, No one singed an eyebrow or burned the house down.

The blanket never left the state of Michigan let alone into the hands of my brother and SIL. I have considered mailing it, but figure it would be tempting fate. Clearly, this blanket is not meant to be received one second before the birth of my niecephew has occurred.

The cardigan front was fitted. It is too short but I am quite proud that I figured the armhole properly.

Yarn was purchased. All the colors were drop dead gorgeous. In the end, I couldn’t narrow it down to just one. Jitterbug by Colinette. In the colorways Toscana (left) and Jay (right).

26nov2006_03.jpgKnitting occurred. I used the drive time to work on my long neglected Baudelaire sock. The leg was a bit snug over the heel, so ripping occurred as well. I tried it again with a looser gauge. Perfection! It was casted off yesterday.Of course, if I had read the entire set of directions, I would have known that the leg might be tight. Thus, adjusting my knitting the first time through.

26nov2006_05.jpgNow to catch up on my bloglines. The number of unread posts is in the triple digits. My goodness, there was a lot being said while I was away.

I think it would be tempting Fate to post that blanket!!! Glad you had a good time. How lovely are those colours?? And I am still to finish my Pseudo-Baudelaire- just the last bit of foot and toe to do. Yours looks so calm and so nice and so not having caused a problem!!!

Mmmm, yummy colinette. I like the one with the bits of gray and yellow, lovely and surprising.

Hmmmm, bet you can guess which coloured yarn I prefer. Now I am thinking to ditch my Elphines and try Beaudelaire!

    Like your new yarns! Pretty.
So, did you forget the blankie at home?
Your sock looks great, I also sometimes wish I had read the entire thing first.

So glad you had a great holiday, that fried turkey sounds yummy!

How do you like the Collinette? I’ve never seen any of their stuff in person.

Now if I can just remember your comments when I cast on for Baudelaire…. ;)

I had been wondering what had become of those socks. *L*

Cool yarn. What’s it to be? :D

Fried turkey?? Tell me more, seriously. Send me an email, I’d love to know about it. I’m always looking for new ways to do turkey. I will be brining and grilling one for Christmas. Man, is THAT good.

p.s. The socks are cool, too, of course. :-)
